REVIEW: Maybelline 24 Hour Colour Tattoo

Somewhat a cult phenomenon now amongst cream eye shadows in the blogging world are the Maybelline 24 Hour Colour Tattoo Cream Gel Eye Shadow. Available at £4.99 here.
I'm sure you've heard about these from all angles by now but I just had to put my own opinion on them out there.

These cream eye shadows are everything you'd expect and more from a cream product! The cream (almost mousse like) formula makes them a dream to apply with a brush or with fingers.
Personally I like to apply them with my ring finger.
This product can be built up to a perfectly pigmented eye shadow or you can use a tiny amount to create a sheer wash over the eye. Both are extremely flattering.
The staying power is like no other cream eye shadow I've tried before!
They last all day on me. You should note that I don't have particularly oily eyelids (if anything they are quite dry) but nevertheless they are very impressive! A slight creasing can be found, especially if you apply TOO much product, but nothing that can't be blended away.
Oh thats another thing! These shadows blend like an absolute dream! And feel so light and airy on the lid.

The shades I currently own are Number 35 - On and On Bronze, and Number 65 - Pink Gold.

Lets start with On and On Bronze. This shade is undoubtedly the most popular shade amongst the range. With bloggers upon bloggers singing it's praises and I have to say it doesn't disappoint!

This was the very first shade I picked up almost a year ago and from then on I vowed to pick up more.
It acts as a nice base for a smokey eye, beautiful with other colours blended into it and perfect on it's own.
I like to add a wash of this to my lid and lower lash line and blend out to give an almost grungey feel to my make up.
If you are looking to start out with cream eye shadows then I highly recommend these!
In particular this colour as it is easy for basically everyone to wear!

You can see here that it is a highly pigmented shade (as are all of the rang) and has a slight iridescent shimmer that is not at all offensive.
All in all a lovely cream eye shadow!

Up next is Pink Gold.
A slightly underestimated shade within the range, I was quite hesitant to pick this up.
But I was in the market for a pink gold colour just to add a wash of something different in time for the festive period.

This shade has a slightly less shimmer to it and is a lot more subtle.
I find that this shade is absolutely perfect for a subtle wash of "something" over the lid as well as adding something extra to a grungey eye. By popping this into the inner corner of the eye and pairing it with a purple or brown eye shadow I find it perfect for a day time look.

This shade is almost a bit more creamier than On and On Bronze. I'm going to put that down to me only just purchasing this one and it being more "new" that the previous.
I love this shade and think it was a perfect risk and a nice addition to my collection.
*sorry the photo isn't very good here but you can see the pigmentation is still quite good even in this harsh lighting*

Overall I really like these cream eye shadows! They have become a staple within my everyday make up routine and I incorporate them one way or another. I really cannot sing their praises enough.
In addition I think they are also perfect for beginners whether you're starting out with eye shadow or make-up all together.
Another excellent release by Maybelline!
What do you think of these?
Have they become a staple in your make-up routine aswell?

Much love

Deanna xo
