No.7 Cleansing Balm: Dry/Very Dry Skin

Sorry I haven't really checked in lately. It's getting towards the end of my first year at Uni, as such it's assessments galore! And if I'm honest, I just haven't really felt inspired to blog recently. However I thought I would kick start things off again with a little review!

Problematic breakouts and the change in weather has led to me re-evaluating my skin care regime once more. If you back to my winter skin care regime >here< then you'll see I was really trying to put some hydration back into my face. This is still very much the case but I've been getting some quite painful break-outs recently. Them under the skin nasties. So I decided to delve into my skin care stash (which lets face it is a little bit bigger than it needs to be) and came up with a few goodies. One of these is the No.7 Cleansing Balm for Dry/Very Dry skin.

Now I've tried this cleansing balm before and actually found it broke me out. I always thought it was a little too rich for my skin although it did do a fantastic job at cleansing my skin! As it turns out I just wasn't using it right. I've replaced my Simple Gel Facial Wash in favour for this now and find it works fantastically. I still use the Simple Cleasing Lotion (twice) to take off the initial make-up but I have found that using this to purify my skin has really worked wonders.

I use this as you would your typical hot cloth cleanser. Once I've removed my make-up I take a generous portion of this and slather it all over my face; really taking the time to massage it into my face/neck. I spend quite a bit of time smothering it in as I have found that actually massaging my face a little bit more helps drain any under the skin blemishes I have. It's also helped drain any little pesky blemishes! I then take a flannel or muslin cloth and soak it in fairly hot water and then proceed to ring it out until it's barely damp. I then start to "polish" the cleanse off of my face using a circular motion and changing what part of the flannel I'm using as I change what area of my face I'm cleansing. I always seem to start with my neck for some reason.

Cleansing like this and following up with my usual dose of tea-tree induced moisturisers I have found that my skin has been really receptive to it! Break outs and dry skin have all been minimised. I should note that I have used the one for Dry/Very Dry Skin has I tend to get dry skin during the winter and if I use a cleanser that isn't for dry skin it tends to strip my skin quite a bit. Where as with this is perfectly nourishes my skin whilst purifying.

This currently retails at £9.50 at Boots but I always try and look out for offers and deals! As Boots are prone to releasing £5 off vouchers quite regularly. Oh! And No.7 is currently on 3 for 2 right now. I've just stocked up! Even without the deal it's still a reasonable price to pay for a cleanser that is nice. And if you find that you don't have dry skin or this one ha broken you out then they do have another Cleansing Balm catered to a different skin type.

I should be posting a little bit more regularly now. Hope you enjoyed.

Much love
Deanna xo
